Senior Data Analyst, Forecasting

Summary 

The Senior Data Analyst interacts cross-functionally with business development, sales, account management, and leadership to produce client-facing transaction volume forecasts and associated financial models. The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for owning and improving all processes for generating client transaction volume and financial forecasts, participating and leading deep dive analyses around program value and pricing, communicating with and delivering analysis to internal and external stakeholders, and ad hoc data analysis requests. The Senior Data Analyst reports to the Manager of Predictive & Product Analytics in the Pharma business unit.

This role requires a candidate who can build effective stakeholder relationships and is energized by solving complex problems in the analytics space. A deep interest in data, a passion for collaboration and communication, and an analytic, probing mind are all necessities. 

What You’ll Do 

Like most growing companies, the job content of all positions varies daily as everyone pitches in to get the job done. Nonetheless, we try to maintain clarity with respect to employees’ primary responsibilities.  

  • Own the continuous improvement of multiple complex processes used to produce client facing transaction volume and financial forecasts 

  • Establish standards and templates for financial models designed to guide pricing strategy and operational planning 

  • Incorporate market conditions, competitive landscape, and external data sources as part of the forecast production process 

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and self-service capabilities 

  • Direct activities of junior team members 

  • Produce, update, and share documentation of forecasting processes  

  • Perform QA on our automated processes and investigate anomalies  

  • Use Tableau, Excel, Python, and Alteryx for data visualization, exploration, automation, and stakeholder deliverables 

About You 

The ideal candidate will be a natural collaborator with strong analytical skills and an innate drive to innovate.  

  • BA/BS in mathematics, economics, finance, statistics, operations research, or related quantitative social/physical science 

  • 5+ years experience in a role primarily focused on data analysis; 3+ years in a forecasting oriented role 

  • Proven understanding of time series forecasting methodologies, for example: ARIMA, ETS, Prophet 

  • Experience with SQL and Python for advanced querying, data transformation, and automation 

  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills 

  • Experience explaining complex technical material to non-technical audiences 

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines 

  • Desire to constantly learn and teach others what you know  

  • Previous team lead or management experience a plus
