Manager, AMP Accounts


We are looking for a strategic account management professional to lead the development of a fast-growing, client-facing team. This highly visible role oversees the management of pharmaceutical account managers and supporting roles, specifically in our AMP business. The Manager will coach, develop, and lead a team of account managers and associates; working with some of CoverMyMeds’ most essential client accounts. Additionally, this position leads client centric or business process strategic initiatives, drives client excellence through oversight and influence, and oversees the profitability, performance and customer satisfaction of their respective program portfolio.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead an account management team that transforms clients into partners
  • Develop a best-in-class team by training and guiding the professional development of
  • CoverMyMeds’ AMP account managers
  • Be willing and able to roll up sleeves and directly problem solve with clients when circumstances call for it
  • Ensure team goals achieve CoverMyMeds’ overarching business priorities
  • Partner with management and leaders of other teams to contribute to organizational planning
  • Work closely with the sales and implementation teams to successfully ensure sales-to-account transitions and meet retention goals
  • Lead and advise on key negotiations
  • Assist with hiring world-class account managers
  • Educate the rest of the organization on the voice of our clients by conducting research, analyzing client data, and making insightful observations
  • Collaborate, coordinate and work with cross-functional teams within the business and enterprise to promote a strong, successful partnership to promote business needs, customer expectations and associated deliverablesUsing data-informed insights to act on retention and expansion opportunities

About You

The ideal candidate is highly knowledgeable about business development and client relations, particularly for high-profile client accounts. We believe success in this position requires a hands-on management style with an emphasis on teamwork. This position is intended for a results-oriented professional with a strong sense of ownership and initiative. Specific qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced education in business or healthcare preferred
  • Minimum 6 years account/relationship management experience in healthcare field, specialty medication experience preferred
  • Experience managing annual contract renewals as well as introduction of new products and services within existing accounts
  • Minimum 3 years experience managing and developing successful account management teams
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to influence clients and advocate for new ideas
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Success in leading and coaching complex negotiations
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills

Specialized Knowledge/Skills –

  • Strong customer and project management experience
  • Ability to develop others and build strong team relationships
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Advanced analytical skills to assess business and financial performance
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as use of collaborative tools such as MS Teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
