Analytics Manager, Data Science

The Analytics Manager, Data Science leads a team of data professionals that provide data-driven insights to our internal and external customers for our Access More Patients (AMP) product line.  This position’s primary responsibility is to grow and build a high performing data science and data engineering team who will support our product, sales, leadership and marketing teams with insights gained from analyzing our rich data sets. The ideal candidate is adept at using large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action for our customers and for the business.

The Manager of Data Science will partner closely with the Product and Development groups across multiple organizations to support the AMP product and customers.  We are looking for someone with strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations. They must have a proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights.

What You’ll Do 

  • Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
  • Manage a team to assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • Provide direction, roadmap, and blueprint for the data science subject areas within the AMP product platform
  • Develop code and models to understand customers and process gaps. Outline and evaluate intrinsic and extrinsic metrics for model performance aligned with business goals.
  • Anticipate the future demands of customers, team members, technology, and the business and design/implement solutions to meet these needs 
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
  • Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes.
  • Develop code and models to understand customers and process gaps. Outline and evaluate intrinsic and extrinsic metrics for model performance aligned with business goals.
  • Develop a team that creates a company A/B testing framework and test model quality.
  • Coordinate with different functional teams to identify problems, implement models, and monitor outcomes.
  • Develop a team that creates processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.

About You 

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience in computer science
  • 2+ years of experience in data science including predictive modeling, exploratory data analysis, and productionizing solutions
  • Previous management experience required 
  • Strategic thinker, able to understand and manage technology and analysts, yet maintain a business and customer focus 
  • Strong foundational understanding of statistical modeling and machine learning
  • Strong programming skills with experience using modern packages in R and Python
  • Knowledge of and experience with multiple BI and analytics platforms (Tableau preferred) 
  • Ability to work and thrive in a highly creative, collaborative, and dynamic environment 
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and delegation skills 
  • Previous healthcare experience strongly preferred, but not required
