Contracts Manager


CoverMyMeds seeks a Contracts Manager to join our rapidly growing organization and Contracts / Legal Team, reporting to CoverMyMeds’ Senior Corporate Counsel.  This role will be responsible for managing a high volume of complex contracts for a primary business unit, as well as serving as back-up for a secondary business unit.  Along with having a proven track record for negotiating commercial contracts, the Contract Manager must have a collaborative mindset and a willingness to embrace enterprise level goals to enable the achievement of a top-performing Contracts / Legal Team.  This position can be based out of our our Columbus office or our Highland Hills office. 

What You’ll Do

  • Act as the key point of contact to review, revise, and negotiate assigned contracts throughout the entire life cycle, including the proposal, document generation, redlining, execution, and system documentation phases.   
  • Identify business and legal risks and, as necessary, and work with legal counsel and internal clients to address such topics.   
  • Ensure that contracts are negotiated in accordance with company standards and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Participate in development and maintenance of playbooks and templates to improve response time and consistency across the organization.  
  • Collaborate with team members to reach departmental goals around productivity, timely delivery, and quality output.
  • Cross train with other team members to serve as back-up during absences and peaks, as needed.
  • Assist in development of negotiating skills of junior staff.

Candidates who are highly organized and can demonstrate that they possess the below skills and qualifications are encouraged to send a cover letter and resume.  

  • Five or more years of substantive commercial contract negotiation experience, preference given to candidates with experience in a healthcare or technology industry. Candidates with relevant regulatory knowledge should demonstrate this in a resume or cover letter.  
  • Proven ability and experience efficiently negotiating complex topics, including various contract types, indemnities, limits of liability, and multi-party dependencies
  • Proficiency in presenting compelling verbal arguments without sacrificing customer relationships
  • Exemplary writing, grammar, and punctuation skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently, taking ownership of assigned contracts and ad hoc projects
  • Prepared to operate with a significant degree of latitude
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office, including stellar redlining skills, is required.  Candidates with demonstrable experience with contract management systems are preferred.  
  • Ability to take charge while balancing a collaborative relationship with colleagues
  • Ability to effectively represent the Contract/Legal team when interacting with various levels of management
  • Some travel to our other office is required (1-5 days per month)
